rulers of the universe

The most powerful beings in all of The Universe. The Rulers maintain the balance of The Universe by tending to their assigned aetheris (something essential or inherently existent, like, for example: greed, love, air, water, natural law, time, etc.) The Rulers exist in the Fifth Realm.

Aelevans are the physical embodiment of an aetheris. They are neither Rulers nor gods, but rather an entity of their own. They have power and persuasion over their aetheric abilities. For example, the aelevan of Greed can manipulate other beings to be greedy for whatever personal reasons they desire.

Aelevans are capable of procreating, however, anything they produce will not be a pure aelevan. Aelevans are fond of mating with gods and demons and, when the opportunity presents itself, angels. The children of aelevans will possess some inherent abilities from each parent.

gods

The most accessible Universal Being to those in the core of The Universe, gods are also assigned to various aetheris and represent various aspects of The Universe, but do not rule their aetheris like the Rulers do. Gods are extremely powerful entities with almost limitless power, however, their powers are contingent on their aetheris. For example, a god of love will have powers that are based in love.

demons

Demons are less powerful than gods, and are born from and exist in The Darkness, which is important to note is not inherently evil. The Darkness speaks more to the balance within each of us. There are demons who choose not to do evil. But in The Darkness lies much evil, and it is wise not to trust a demon you don't know.

angels

Angels are also less powerful than gods, and are born from and exist in The Light, which is likewise important to note is not inherently pure and good. Angels are expected to live to a certain code and standard, with their most important law being. "Other before self". To act for the self as an angel is seen as a sin, and if serious enough, can cause an angel to fall.

demi-demons

Demi-demons are quite powerful in their own right, but they possess qualities of something else (i.e. human) which sullies their full potential as a demon.

demi-gods

Similarly, demi-gods are part god and part something typically lesser. They are more powerful than demi-demons or demi-angels given their high-ranking god blood.

demi-angels

Demi-angels follow the same laws as demi-demons, with nearly identical powers to an angel but without being "pure" enough to be considered an angel by themselves.

sub-demons

magic

sub-angels

The lowest ranking demons in The Universe, such as vampires. Their powers are extremely limited to their species, which is inherently dark.

Magical creatures such as merfolk, fae, and witches belong to this category. They are neither inherently light or dark, they choose their own morality.

The lowest ranking angels in The Universe, such as prophets or mediums. Their powers are also extremely limited, but are inherently light.

humans

At the bottom of the ranks are  humans, a beautiful blend of Light and Darkness that exist in a mortal vessel. There are many breeds of humans across The Universe, including the Daelish people who were gifted Ruler status by The Universe, but are otherwise nearly identical to the humans on Earth. Humans can possess some divinity from either The Light or The Darkness, but it is usually very minimal and inconsequential.
